A solar print combines photographic images into the intaglio printing process. The photo image is transferred to a film negative then etched on an aluminum light sensitive plate using ultra violet source rather than acid.
After developing the plate the print transfer process begins! The plate is inked and the ink is lowered into the etched surface and the surface of the plate is wiped clean. Fine handmade paper and the inked plate are rolled through an etching press under great pressure.
The result is a unique art form!
